Introduction** This Agreement and Code of Conduct ("Agreement") is entered into between [Your Name], an individual, hereinafter referred to as "Participant," and Black Image Center, a non-profit organization located at 3209 La Cienega Ave, Culver City, CA 90232, hereinafter referred to as the "Organization." **II. Purpose** The purpose of this Agreement is to define the terms and conditions under which the Participant will engage in activities with Black Image Center and to establish a code of conduct for all individuals involved with the Organization. **III. Universal Responsibilities** All individuals involved with Black Image Center agree to: - Comply with all Organization policies and procedures. - Uphold the values of inclusivity, respect, and non-discrimination in all interactions within Black Image Center. - Promote a culture of creativity, learning, and community within the Organization. -Dedicate yourself to purposeful service that aligns with our mission. Recognize that your contributions are not merely duties but a powerful commitment to making a positive impact within the Black community and beyond. - Actively engage with participants, fellow volunteers, and staff to foster a sense of belonging within the Black Image Center community. Encourage dialogue, collaboration, and connections that amplify the power of our shared experiences. - Embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship within our cultural and artistic endeavors. Seek innovative approaches, share new ideas, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of Black Image Center's transformative programs and initiatives. - If you have committed to a task or role but find yourself unable to fulfill it, you accept the responsibility to proactively seek a suitable replacement from within our community. The work must be completed to ensure the continued success of Black Image Center's programs and initiatives. - Be punctual and reliable in fulfilling commitments. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but we expect all those involved in Black Image Center to prioritize their commitments with Black Image Center. We believe in actions, not just words, and therefore, punctuality and reliability are essential. Please note that repeated failure to fulfill commitments or chronic lateness may result in consequences, and we will provide warnings only to a reasonable extent. Our aim is to maintain a productive and respectful environment for everyone involved in Black Image Center activities. - Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to the Organization, its beneficiaries, and its participants. - Communicate any scheduling conflicts or changes to the Organization in advance. - Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate Organization staff member. -Conflict Resolution: In the spirit of maintaining a harmonious and inclusive environment, Black Image Center is committed to resolving internal conflicts swiftly and constructively. In the event of an internal conflict that cannot be resolved through direct communication between parties involved, the following process will be followed: • First Attempt: The parties involved in the conflict will make a sincere effort to resolve the issue through open and respectful dialogue. Mediation by a fellow volunteer or staff member may be sought if necessary. • Second Attempt: If the conflict persists after the first attempt at resolution, a second round of mediation will be pursued. This time, the mediator will be an experienced member of the Black Image Center community, chosen by mutual agreement or appointed by the Volunteer Coordinator. • Third Attempt: If the conflict remains unresolved after the second mediation attempt, the parties involved will agree to engage an independent, outside mediator with expertise in conflict resolution. The decision of the outside mediator will be final, and all parties commit to abiding by their recommendations. **IV. Code of Conduct** All individuals involved with Black Image Center shall: - Treat all participants, staff, and fellow individuals with respect and kindness. - Refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior, including but not limited to behavior based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. - Abide by all applicable laws and regulations during their involvement with Black Image Center. - Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals associated with the Organization. - Use Black Image Center resources, equipment, and facilities responsibly and for their intended purposes. - Immediately report any concerns or violations of this Code of Conduct to Organization staff. **VI. Release and Waiver of Liability** All individuals involved with Black Image Center acknowledge and agree that they are engaging in activities with the Organization willingly and at their own risk. They release and waive any claims against the Organization and its representatives for any injury or harm that may occur during their involvement with Black Image Center. **VII. Entire Agreement** This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Participant and the Organization and supersedes all prior agreements, whether oral or written. **VIII. Governing Law** This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. **IX. Signatures** By checking the box, the Participant and the Organization acknowledge that they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and Code of Conduct.
